Tonight you should write a short story using vocab words 41-50 (oblivion through propensity). Make this a story about a holiday. You may write about any holiday that you celebrate around this time of year, and make it silly or serious. If you don’t celebrate anything around this time of year, write about another holiday. That’s up to you – as long as you use the 10 words, you’re all good. Please underline them. You do NOT need to illustrate this story, but certainly may do so if the spirit moves you.
Here’s the packet for you all to download.
Homework tonight is to finish reading whatever very small bit of Book 9 we didn’t finish in class, and then to write a paragraph in your journal about what you have learned about Odysseus’ character / personality from this chapter. Be sure to find some textual evidence to support your thinking.
Just a reminder that I and several other teachers will be showing the second film in the Sophomore Film Festival, Lords of Dogtown, on Sunday at the Darien Public Library.
The film will begin at 2 p.m. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to enter. Other new rules for this showing are: remember to eat and use the bathroom before or after the film, as we will not allow either during the showing.
Remember that if you cannot attend, you must have a parent or guardian e-mail me with a legitimate excuse.
