9 300 Lord of the Flies Extra Credit Bookmarks

Complete and turn in the first four bookmarks by Tuesday (the day after the Memorial Day Weekend).
Each bookmark will be worth 5 points.

If you do all 8 chapters, that’s a total of 40 extra credit points. (And a paper is normally 50 points in my class, so this is worth your time).

READ THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT FOR DUE DATES.

The bookmarks will be evaluated based on the thoroughness and the thoughtfulness of the responses. Each section should be filled out completely. However, just filling in space will not be sufficient to earn all of your points. Your bookmarks should indicate that you are thinking about the text.

9 300 Periods 3 and 5

No homework tonight. We will continue reading tomorrow (Friday). Again, this is for periods 3 and 5 only.

9 300 Period 7 –

Read the final chapter of To Kill a Mockingbird this weekend. That’s all!

World Lit Seminar students –

For now — I would advise writing out a one-page journal entry tonight that answers the question:  what topic or issue am I the most interested in that arises in some way in the pages of Infidel, Persepolis, and one other text we have watched/studied this quarter (Hotel Rwanda, “Girl,” “The Colonel,” “Into Mexico”). Explain what about that topic you want to know, why you care about it, and what questions you have about it.

If you’re reading this right now, I would advise getting that done before class tomorrow.  That way, you can spend some class time tomorrow looking for quotations to include in your draft.  I will give you a little class-time to start that before we get back to Hotel Rwanda.
